Purpose:
|
To report two cases of Splendore–Hoeppli phenomenon, a rare histopathologic observation, as a late clinical finding in vernal keratoconjunctivitis.
|
|
Methods:
|
We report two young females with subconjunctival nodules as a manifestation of Splendore–Hoeppli phenomenon with a previous history of severe vernal keratoconjunctivitis.
|
|
Results:
|
After ruling out other conditions causing such reaction, both of our patients were treated using frequent topical corticosteroid plus topical cyclosporine 2% in one of them. Complete resolution was observed in both patients
|
|
Conclusion:
|
Splendore–Hoeppli phenomenon could be actually a part of vernal keratoconjunctivitis manifestations.
