Purpose:
|
To estimate burn lesion size in laser photocoagulation retinal surgery using different laser parameters include power, beam size and time duration with diode laser by clinical experiment carried out.
|
Methods:
|
Ten adult patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy were selected. A diode laser with green and red was used. The lesion size was measured for two different spot sizes and 100 and 150 mw laser power with pulls duration of 50ms and100ms by Optical Coherent Tomography.

Results:
|
Retinal lesion size depends on different factor that intense by increase laser power and time duration and decreased with larger beam size. The lesion size also in green wavelength was bigger than red wavelength.

Conclusion:
|
We hope that this study can help surgeon to choose correct parameter of laser due to reduce side effect of laser photocoagulation.
