Comparison of chilled and room temperature bss and bcl on post photorefractivekratectomy pain .

In this prospective,single-masked,randomized,contralateral eye study,50 patient divided in two group which received room temperature or chilled bss and bcl in each eye and compared for post prk pain.

in 26 patient right eye received room temperature and left eye chilled bss and bcl and in 24 patient vice versa.4 pain system evaluated for each eye in two group at 1h,6h,day 1,2,3,5,7 postoperative.there was no significant difference between two eye in pain rating except at 6h and day 1 in which the different score both were in low limit of pain intensity spectrum and in contrast to each other in two group.

chilled bss and bcl don’t seem to be superior to room temperature in reducing post prk pain.
