Purpose:
To introduce a novel case of Coat’s disease who was incidentally diagnosed in adulthood.
Methods:
With a provisional diagnosis of Coat’s disease, subsequently confirmed by fluorescein angiography, it was decided for the patient to remain under observation in regarding to visual acuity, stability and chronicity of the finding. The patient was examined during an eight-month-follow up period with different intervals.
Results:
After eight months of regular follow- up no change in the patient’s signs and symptoms occurred.
Conclusion:
Coat’s disease can be diagnosed in adults with less tendency to progress. We report a case of asymptomatic Coat’s disease who was first diagnosed in middle age accidentally. His fundus appearance is unique to other cases of same condition.A wait and watch approach and no intervention strategy seemed logic,as he was a rare case of spontaneous regression and perfect visual acuity despite extensive peripheral exudation in the course of Coat’s disease
