Purpose:

the purpose of this study was compare central corneal thickness(CCT),anterior chamber depth(ACD) and white to white distance(WTW) measurement from the Lenstar LS 900 and the Orbscan scanning slit topography.

Methods:

In this study 594 eyes from 297 healthy refractive surgery candidates were enrolled.CCT,ACD and WTW were obtained to determine the difference measurement with Orbscan and Lenstar.Exclusion criteria were history of any intraocular and corneal surgery, contact lens wear and corneal anomalies.statiscal evaluation was performed using paired t test for comparison of measurement techniques.

Results:

The mean CCT was smaller with Lenstar than with Orbsacn(right eyes:534.65 and left eyes:533.57 versus right eyes:556.65 and left eyes:556.99).( p<0.001).The mean WTW was smaller with Orbscn than lenstar(right eyes:11.67 and left eyes:11.64 versus right eyes:12.13 and left eyes:12.13)( p<0.001).The mean ACD was shallower with Lenstar than with Orbscan(right eyes:3.086 and left eyes:3.098 versus right eyes:3.126 and left eyes:3.190).(right p<0.014)(left p<0.001).

Conclusion:

CCT,ACD and WTW measurement acquired by Lenstar and Orbsacn showed clinically significant differences and are not interchangeable.
